Source Review
Source review is an essential step in Media Dubbing projects. During source review, users check the automated transcription and verify character assignments, text segmentation, and spelling accuracy. Ensuring a high-quality source review is critical, because it's the basis for an accurate alignment and timing in target language scripts. Once the source review is complete, the source language status will change to Reviewed, enabling you to upload target scripts and begin content review.

1. Character Assignment
In this step, you verify that each line in the script is accurately mapped to the correct character in the dialogue. During automatic transcription, the system assigns placeholder names to characters, and errors in character assignment can occasionally occur. To make adjustments, click on a character's name to open the Character Panel. Here you can rename characters or reassign lines to the correct character if needed. You can also apply your changes to all lines of the same character by selecting "Apply to all lines in batch".
2. Text Editor
The Text Editor allows you to review and refine the transcription and segmentation of each line. Start by reviewing the automated transcription for errors, including any spelling or grammatical errors that need to be corrected. You can improve transcription accuracy by uploading an optional script during media ingestion. Segment boundaries are also an important part of this review, as they define the start and end points for each line of text and audio. You can add additional segments by hovering between two existing segments and clicking the + icon. You can listen to each line of audio by clicking the Play button next to the text to verify that the transcription exactly matches the source audio.
3. Expression Adjustment
By adjusting the Expression setting, you can select from eight different emotions and a narrative style to control the emotional tone used to generate the target language audio.
4. Timing Adjustment
You can make precise adjustments to the in and out timecodes for each audio segment. Simply click directly on the timecode values you'd like to change. Setting accurate in and out points is important because they serve as reference points for the target language audio and support proper localization.
5. Completing the Review
Once you have reviewed and adjusted all character assignments, text, and timing, complete the source review by selecting Complete Review. This action changes the source language status to Reviewed, allowing you to upload and review the target language scripts. Completing the Source Review with attention to detail is critical because the finalized source text and timecodes provide the basic structure for all translations and guide the entire dubbing process.
